Hot Buns

We’ve been fans of the bun ever since we realized that a bad hair day can become a fab hair day with the simple style. No matter what state your hair is in the a.m., the adorable style can have you looking cute and out the door in minutes.
This summer, we’ll be taking a cue from the Carolina Herrera and Marc by Marc Jacobs resort 2012 models and be skipping low, messy buns in favor of sleek, head-topping ones. The look is equally fashion-forward paired with an evening gown or a pair of denim-cut offs and loose, summer tee.

Next time you’re in a rush, or just looking for a sleek, fashionable hairstyle that’ll keep your neck cool in the summer heat, create a runway-inspired, sky-high bun with these simple steps.
1. Pull hair back into a tight ponytail at the crown of your head using an elastic. If any strands are too short and can’t quite reach, secure them away from your neck using bobby pins that match your hair color.
2. Separate the hair into three to four sections depending on your hair’s thickness. Wrap each around the ponytail tightly and secure with bobby pins (but make sure the pins can’t be seen!)
3. Finish the look off with a quick spray all over with your favorite holding spray to make sure no scragglies get loose.
4. To jazz the look up like the Marc by Marc Jacobs model above, clip a decorative barrette in front.
